Not His Best Side

The male blackbird that was so harassed teaching his two chicks to feed themselves a couple of weeks ago now has them off his hands, so to speak. But he is still driven to collect more food than he can eat himself. The scar above his right eye gives him a rather grim appearance, and to make matters worse he is moulting. He seems to be perpetually vexed. I don't think that he can fly properly without his tail feathers and some of his wing feathers.

I wonder if this is the same bird that wakes me at 5.20 am?
