Michaelmas cactus?

This plant has always flowered at the beginning of November, usually they are known as Xmas or Easter cacti, but not this specimen :)
I inherited it from Mum, so it was bound to be a bit different!

Spent the day on buses, going back and forth to the Western General Hospital; first time to accompany M to an Out of Hours appointment. We very unfairly and publicly blamed Ted for the rash on her neck (for which I can only apologise unreservedly to him), but it turned out that the horrible HR situation had actually brought on M's first ever attack of shingles :( The poor dear's neck and ear on the right side is in quite a state, horrible red rash and weeping blisters etc. Happily it's not too painful, just a little tender and she is a very brave wee soldier, but it is very upsetting to see.
The second trip to the hospital was to pick up a huge dose of Zovirax that the slightly daffy doctor had forgotten to hand to M. She had been given a small packet, suitable for a cold sore, when in fact the dose should be about 4 times that. Spent the rest of the day nursing and fussing, doubtless driving her mad.
A nice evening with a friend's daughter, who has just moved back to Edinburgh...M in the corner of the restaurant with a silk scarf round her face...
