Sunrise.....

......soft and gentle in the south as we look towards the Port Hills of Christchurch.......and very garish out east, in extra's......

Two different directions couldn't be more different during this morning's sunrise and once the sun broke the horizon it all turned to custard, dull flat light, the wind got up, gulls circled above while the waves crashed on shore. 

It was lovely to be in the company of blipper mpp26. While ambling along we spotted a black swan in the waves and couldn't believe our eyes when it decided to surf to shore, it was soooo funny.

We wandered round the estuary, had a hot drink at Brick Mill cafe, went down to the Ashley River behind the airfield and ended up on the back roads of Oxford admiring Mt Oxford covered in snow. 

Certainly was a lovely way to spend Friday, thanks M for such an enjoyable day :))
