Border Tails

The road less travelled

Today, the A7 was closed at Langholm from 0730 - 1200 for their local common riding festival. I decided against leaving the house at 0600 to get through before this and sought out an alternative route to Carlisle. There were two alternatives, via Jedburgh, or via Moffat, and I chose the former as it was a road I’d never been on before.

Just after Jedburgh, I left the main road and went down via Bonchester Bridge, Newcastleton, and Canonbie. It was a nice run.
