Life in Sunny Dubai

Longest blood moon eclipse of the century!

I can't seem to capture the moon properly by any stretch of the imagination, so this blip just serves to mark a historic event.

So many things happening in the sky all in the space of a few hours, I wish I'd made the effort to do a bit more research to be able to see it through a telescope. Isn't it interesting though, how often during an eclipse, these clouds appear! The eagle eye among you might spot Mars.

And in the process of finding a spot with less light pollution, we have found a really good place for future BBQs. :) It was around 35degC at 9:30pm, but not humid, so not unbearably uncomfortable. We didn't stay out too long though - just about an hour.

The rest of the day has been quiet, just as some days need to be, and it's been good to read that the spell of hot weather in the UK might have finally come to an end.
