Korea

Friday marked the sixty-fifth anniversary of the armistice that brought an end to fighting in the Korean War. The Scottish Korean War Memorial near Bathgate was opened in 2000 and, in addition to the wood and slate pagoda containing the names of the UK service personnel who died in the conflict, there are 100 Korean fir trees and over 1100 native Scottish trees to commemorate those who fell.
