Mr YB and I did a walk at Derwenthaugh Country Park today. It's situated just a couple of miles from our house. The weather was quite a bit fresher today but still quite warm at times. Also, at times the sky clouded and threatened to rain. A few minutes later the sun would be out again.
In the past the park was the site of Derwenthaugh Coke Works which opened in 1928 and prior to that in the 18th and 19th century it was the site of Crowley Ironworks which was the largest ironworks in Europe at the time. It is amazing how from a very industrial site this lovely park has been created. Red kites are often seen in this area.
