Peppermint Floral Water (hydrosol)

After a glorious day of rain and cooling temperatures, the heat is on the rise again - and it's the perfect time to talk to you about making cooling drinks and facesprays from hydrosols (floral water).

During the process of distilling plants to obtain the essential oils, the steam is chilled and produces the hydrosol which is just as useful as the oil, but for different reasons.

To make a drink that really cools you down, here is a little tip. Add about 3 tbs (more or less according to taste) into a 1 1/2 litre of spring water and drink throughout the day.

For a face spray, as seen above: put some spring water into a fine aerosol bottle, add 1tbs of hydrosol (according to the size of the bottle) and keep it in the fridge. When you feel too hot, spray the refreshing mist onto your face, neck and shoulders and let it dry naturally. It's wonderfully effective.
Always buy organic hydrosols or essential oils.

I would love to hear if you try this and how you find it!
Have a wonderful Sunday!
