Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Holidays!

More rain. I can hear the garden and the grass sighing quietly. I can SEE the hedge growing.

Kerri and Luke came to take Archie out. He was very happy to see them. They haven’t been for ages - weekends for working people are very precious, and they're busy young folk. Luckily, they almost made it there and back without getting too wet. They met two new schnauzers, and Archie was doing his 'schnauzer boxing' with them. Haven’t seen that for a while.

The rest of day has been spent getting organised for nipping off down south tomorrow. Archie will also be nipping off, north, down the road to Rufus, to be precise. He's very excited, and insisted on a haircut, shampoo, blow dry, ear trims and foot bath. He wants to look his best. Well, for Day One anyway.

In between the occasional flurry of packing, I was watching the last day of the Tour de France. Also watched the bike race round Surrey - in the rain. Both races had an exciting finish - within minutes of each other!

Right. Early to bed. VERY early to rise...
