Nature Diary ... Clever Baby Sparrow

On a day of gale force winds with rain and more rain, after weeks of scorching weather which had turned the grass from a luscious green to the colour of dried straw, this baby sparrow braved the elements to perform feats of acrobatic skill fit to rival any bird as he fed from the swinging suet block. He fed alone as other, possibly wiser, birds were taking shelter somewhere. Tiny little baby. I hope to see him again tomorrow.
