St John's Church

I had the opportunity to climb to the top of the tower of one of our local churches, with the community photography group members today. The stairs were steep and narrow and winding round like a helter skelter, enclosed by thick walls....but I panicked after about 30 stairs, (there were 108) and felt nauseous and claustropobic! This has never happened before, must be an age thing, I felt so unsafe! So I came back down and contented myself with experimenting with the settings on the camera, my feet on terra firma! Really disappointed that I couldn't manage it, the views were fabulous, as I saw from photos of the two that did climb to the top.........
