Garden grabbing

Allotment this morning, giving the strawberries a severe haircut and tidy up. Picked some raspberries and beetroot.

Spent most of the afternoon trying to get a BR WiFi extender to connect to the router. Even following the instructions failed to work. It took a call to BT to be told that the instructions didn’t work for all routers. They emailed the correct procedure which eventually worked.

All this made us later than anticipated going for a walk. A walk that provided today’s blip - garden grabbing. This house had a huge garden and when the lady died her family had the dilemma of selling house with land for someone else to make a vast profit or make the money themselves.

We thought garden grabbing had been restricted. Not here, two large houses, both soaring above surrounding houses have been built in that garden. Now it looks as if they’re starting to demolish the original house - something that was not supposed to happen.

And these new houses are not the sort we need more of - hardly affordable. It’s wrong and driven by the pursuit of money.
