In Memory

I rediscovered St.George's Field today. I used to come here on warm days to read, during my lunch break when I worked at the nearby Parkinson Building on the University campus. That was 27 years ago. It's one of the many secret places to be found near to the city centre.

The field is a former cemetery that's now maintained as a secluded open space. As you walk on the grass it's hard to believe that it holds no less than 93,569 recorded interments. I had no idea back all that time ago. It felt so peaceful. The grass seemed much greener than I've seen anywhere else lately.

In memory of so very many.
