Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Le pissoir

A lovely warm, sunny day with the odd downpour of Biblical proportions. We took ourselves off to Fyvie, one of our favourite local castles.

As always, my eye was drawn to a particular detail in an enormous 17th Century tapestry depicting a Flemish fish market. As Mrs T tells me, you can't take the puerile schoolboy out of the elderly man!

Extra. Then a walk around the large castle lake, where we came across a very relaxed pair of swans sunning themselves with their 9, yes 9, cygnets.
