Shetland Wallaby

A breezy day, and mostly cloudy.  Some sunny spells, but a sunny evening for a while.  Clouded over again.

It's been a day mostly in the garden.  After breakfast, I started at the peat stack, and finished in a couple of hours.  Nipped into Lerwick for some errands, and then headed to Burra to pick up niece Elise.  Elise has been helping me in the garden this afternoon.  So many weeds, they are everywhere, also a major invasion of foxgloves too.  I've planted a monkey puzzle, and various flowers, after the weeding.  Elsie stayed for tea, and walkies with Sammy, before mam came by to pick her up.

While we were in Burra, we popped next to Elise's to see the wallabies.  Not the first animal you think of when in Shetland.  Dave Kok who owns them, he comes from Tasmania.  He also has pigs, goats, rabbits and an emu coming soon.  I tried to get the wallabies to come over, but since Dave wasn't about, they stayed clear, possibly due to Sammy woofing.  Elise helps out here now and again.  Taken at the Out Post, East Burra.
