Statue

of Rembrandt van Rijn, the Dutch painter, etcher and draftsman. Apparently he must have spent a lot of time near the river Amstel to make sketches or to paint. The girl and I discovered the statue walking through the polder landscape between Amstelveen and the river Amstel.

Bert and the boy arrived at noon, telling us about their weekend in Edinburgh. They were very tired, but have had a good time together. They had been to Crammond Island, up on Calton hill, drinking coffee with Lady Findhorn and of course to the tattoo. From experience I know that possible gaps in their story will be filled in by Bert tomorrow.

We were home within four hours.
