IT'S ALL VERY WELL.....

…..Mr. HCB growing all these fruits and vegetables, but when he picks them all and brings them in, I have to do something with them!

Another bumper crop of blackberries, beans, mange tout peas, courgettes, gherkins, cucumbers and tomatoes this morning.  I really need to get pickled pickling!  Some of the tomatoes are a new variety Mr. HCB has tried this year, they are plum shaped and stripey, called Artisan Mix - they taste delicious too.

We have just been sitting in the garden, having our coffee and discussing how we could alter the garden to make it more manageable and also where we could go for a holiday - but of course, Mr. HCB doesn’t want to leave the garden and feels he couldn’t ask our neighbour to water two greenhouses and then, of course, he said, “There’s also cricket!”  (BIG SIGH from me!)

So we continue to deliberate and it looks as if it could be November before we have a holiday.  We are going to visit some friends in North Wales at the beginning of November, so perhaps I can find a nice hotel somewhere up there for a few days after that.  I know we are retired, but as I said to him, it would be good to go away and be waited on - perhaps it's a "woman thing"!

Well, better go and do something with all that stuff - perhaps a tomato and cucumber salad for lunch, with a slice of gherkin!

“Nature herself does not distinguish
     between what seed it receives.
It grows whatever seed is planted;
     this is the way life works.
Be mindful of the seeds you plant today,
     as they will become the crop you harvest.”

P.S.  I hope you don't think I am grumbling about the amount of produce, but there are only so many cucumbers and tomatoes you can give away or pickle!!
