Peaceful and Still......

No sound of any BLASTING  today, only the sound of birdsong and dogs being called to heel.  Norland Moor covers approximately 250 acres and today belongs to the local council and is recreational. There is evidence of a small number of standing stones, ditches and banks  - the Ladstone, a large outcrop has been linked with Druids as a possible place of ritual sacrifice. The moor bears the scars of quarrying carried out chiefly in the 18th and 19th centuries on its north-western edge when one assumes the locals would have had to put up with the noise of BLASTS at certain times.

A very tenuous link to the MM theme of "BLAST), thank you laurie54 for hosting and causing us to think hard.  Many thanks too for the response to my Damselfly, it's very much appreciated.
