Greece Holiday Day 1

8/8/2018 - Text to follow and proper photos rather than video still collage.

Eichenau near Munich Germany to Ancona Ferry Port, Italy. We made such good time over the Brenner Pass and down to the flatlands past Bologna that we took some time out to drive up to San Marino and take a quick tour and stretch the legs. Angie had driven much of the way after the Brenner Pass. Temperature rose greatly at the same time.

The car is a company car, our headquarters being in Dortmund and thus the registration number "DO". The "X" our local MD of the BMW showroom there liked to use for vehicles that were registered  (for bonus reasons) with BMW as demonstrators. We got new cars about every 6 months. One of the perks of the business - this was a 525i Estate. Earlier I had had a 540i directly from BMW but that was needed during my holiday in the two East German BMW businesses I was managing at the time.

801km and 8 hours 20 minutes (excl. traffic delays), according to 2018 Google Maps. Austrian and in particular Italian speed penalties very strict so one needs to plan that in.
