Pontoon

A pontoon is being installed on the river right outside our house. The main blip shows the size of crane involved in this tricky construction. The pontoon plan is providing a good deal of head scratching in the neighbourhood. The Forth is still tidal at Stirling and the long, hot, dry summer has given us some very low tides. The idea is for there to be a river taxi and other craft but I think some dredging will also be required. It's a complicated job because the pontoon will have to rise and fall with the tides. My extra shows the 'steady boat' which will be involved in the construction from on the river. Seeing a boat hoisted by a crane outside your window isn't something that happens every day. All quite curious.
