Yummy

One of the Pleurotus family, probably Summer or Golden Oyster.

So Probs best to read this after you've eaten....

Ever wondered why good oyster mushrooms are served sliced? Well by "good" I mean wild foraged shrooms, not cultivated ones. In their natural form these wonderful little fungi are carnivorous - they entice nematode worms and other insects into their gills with their smell and then they grow new flesh around their prize and slowly digest and absorb it. So the skilled chef knows to slice the mushroom and look for (& discard) these unwitting extras.

In other news the house is now painted and the gutters all repaired and resealed. There's some minor stuff to finish but all the hard work is done.
Which is good - as I'm totally shattered lol.
