Vals

We found it way too hot the one evening we spent at home, so we packed up our things again and drove to Vals that promised to be at least 8°C cooler. You can reach Vals only by a long drive along a mountain road and through a tunnel, or on foot, mountain bike or similar. It has loads of old wooden houses with shingle roofs, fantastic.

We walked around town a bit, enjoying it to be a bit colder (not enough though!), and enjoyed a very peaceful night in the Hotel Steinbock at the far end of town - not a single car to be heard, just the sound of crickets and gurgling water from a stream - and then later the rain.
