Morning Sparkles

It's been a tough afternoon for my beautiful Miss L. And for me and Mr K too!!
She's was referred to the hospital for blood tests because she hasn't grown much in a year and hasn't really done a solid poo since she was born. There may or may not be a connection!
No-one's that worried but they're doing routine bloods to rule out anything nasty.
We spent all morning playing doctors with her toys - she had her stethoscope, thermometer and syringe and tended all the teddies wonderfully. I made sure we did lots of syringe work and put lots of magic cream on their arms so it didn't hurt!
She was quite excited to be going to an actual hospital to see a real doctor!
It was weird going to the hospital where she was born. Brought back lots of memories of that ridiculously dramatic day which turned into an episode of ER!!
We'd put anaesthetic cream on her arms like my GP said (Mr K and I just spent ten minutes discussing what you call that bit on the inside of the middle of your arm where they do injections but we're still none the wiser!!) but the doctor said we should have put it on the back of her hands. Bloody hell!
They used a fast acting freezing spray but Miss L got screamed and cried and struggled as soon as he put the needle in. It was horrendous.
They tried the other hand but it was the same. They got a teeny bit of blood out but nowhere near enough.
We've got to go back again next Thursday for round two. This time we've got anaesthetic cream for her arms, hands and feet.
Amazingly she's actually quite keen to go back - she's looking forward to playing with the baby in the playroom and the picnic box that the lovely nurse brought her.
As awful as it was, she doesn't seem to have been traumatised by it which is a blessing.
