Lichen Fractals

When I saw Ingeborg's Abstract Thursday Challenge for the week I immediately thought of the type of Lichen which radiates out from a central spot with smooth green-grey disc-like patches getting smaller and smaller as they go; a fairly good example of the definition of a fractal in nature.

Accordingly, I dropped off at Fleet Pond (extra) on the way home from work to try and find some examples while I enjoyed the 1 3/4 mile walk around the "pond" - the largest fresh water body of water in Hampshire.    In the event, there were few what I would call good examples showing real fractal-like growth, but this one is close.  I also thoroughly enjoyed my walk!
