Swindon Steam

With adverse weather conditions forecast, I decided an indoor attraction would be the best for today's trip.  It has been a number of years since I last visitied the GWR Museum in Swindon. It is also next to a large shopping outlet, so seemed to fit the bill nicely.

The museum, although sadly with static steam engine exhibits only, was very interesting and makes use of set scenes with waxwork models and modern multimedia to add interest for adults and children alike.

My choice of venue was proven a good one when I emerged to find wet streets, though in the muddy air they were drying up fast.  I took a wander round the old GWR workshop buildings to find this image.
