Waiting for their turn

Today’s picture is of a young Robin and a Blue Tit, sitting in the branches of one of our trees; they are waiting for space on the bird feeders. After the torrential rain, with thunder and lightening, once the rain stopped the feeders became very busy.

The Gas Surveyor arrived this morning to check what needs to be done to move the gas meter to the outside of our property. At first she thought it was going to be difficult because we have a French drain along the front of our house and a drainpipe which she thought was in the way. My husband told her how he would do it, being a Chartered Engineer several times over he does know what he is talking about. She made a phone call and sent pictures to those who do these things and was told how they would do it; exactly as my husband said they could.

It rained for much of the morning and around lunchtime it was torrential with thunder and lightening, so I did some indoor jobs this morning; no pond visible as yet. Today we are clearing the rest of the kitchen ready for the tiler on Monday. Our son-in-law was flying home from a business trip, so I was also tracking him using Planefinder. Victoria arrived home this afternoon from her week away at University in Canterbury related to her apprenticeship and Bio-medical degree. Simon’s plane was landing at London Heathrow so no pictures of his plane coming in.
