Sunburst

Had a lovely day off work. I went for a massage with a friend in Bolton in the early afternoon. Then came home, had a late lunch, and got ready to go out again.

I went to Lancaster with my parents as we had a meal booked at 5pm and had booked to see Three Musketeers by The Dukes at Williamson Park. It was a lovely meal at Pizza Margherita, with tasty vegan choices for me :) We then went along to the play. The park is a gorgeous venue, with stunning views from the top. Unfortunately the play wasn't quite as stunning!

Two years ago we went to watch The Hobbit in Williamson park - again by The Dukes - and it was amazing! Last year they put on Treasure Island and it was quite disappointing. We gave them another try this year thinking last year's must have been an off year. But this time it was really panto and childish, seemingly aimed at really young children. We ended up leaving shortly after the interval as we were getting bored (and chilly!). Good job too as we still got home at about 11pm!

Such a shame as The Hobbit was such a good production and was good for all ages!

The picture is of the sun setting, taken from behind a tree at the top of the park. It was definitely more entertaining than the play!

The extras are a plaque from outside The Golden Lion pub that we walked past on the way up from the restaurant to the park. My mum spotted it and I couldn't resist getting a blip! There's a couple of shots of the Ashton memorial from the top of the park too, one with some of the flowers from the play :)
