A Glorious Outing

We haven’t been on a proper outing for ages. Mum has been busy and I can understand that, but I need adventures so I was super happy when we parked near the ice cream barn. Yay!

First, we went walkies through meadows with oaks and hills down to the lake. Usually on a warm day, it’s packed with people and children enjoying a day out by the lake and swimming. Today was cooler, and early so we were alone and I could come with on the floating bridge. We had a picnic sandwich, and mum claimed that she would have gone into the water if she had brought a swimsuit. Ha! I doubt it.

Then we went to the actual ice cream barn, which is a small family run quality ice cream factory, situated in the middle of nowhere in the countryside. Mum bought three tubs of ice cream to take home - strawberry, lemon curd and toffee sea salt - and then of course we shared some ice cream, sitting in the small boat as usual. Baked apples with cinnamon ice cream. How about that?
