A moment of quiet reflection

You (can, if you wish to,) learn something new every day! This rather dull and misty morning I popped up to the Glencruitten walled garden, just a few minutes out of Oban, to have a look at my veggie beds before going away for a few days. I've often stopped to photograph this loch, or just to stare out over it, and assumed that it was a reservoir.

Today I've looked it up for the first time. It is a reservoir and it's called Luachrach Loch. The house over to the right is Luachrach Cottage and was built in 1926 to a design by the Edinburgh architect, Sir Robert Lorimer. Who would have thought!  Lorimer's best work in the area is Ardkinglas House, on Loch Fyne.
