Tough Brief

The EAF Conference Dinner was back in the Scottish National Gallery at The Mound. As before, the delegates started their evening with a private viewing of the current exhibition at the Gallery - this year it's Rembrandt. The trouble is that with many of the paintings on loan from other collections there is a strict 'no photography' rule so I needed to take pictures that illustrated a visit to a painting exhibition without showing any of the paintings! Last year I was able to use the reception room with its massive poster reproductions of the paintings as a backdrop but this time the lighting in there was terrible - they said it was an electrical fault and nothing they could do to turn on more lights. So I had to get creative in the gallery itself. Think I got lucky with this couple, even getting the conference banner in the background as well.
