Versatile Tradescantia

When my pot plant gets too big and traily, I cut off some of the stems and stick them in a vase. With or without flowers, they look lovely and last indefinitely (if you keep the water fresh) as they put out roots.

The vase here I made at pottery evening classes about 100 years ago - all my own design. Best thing about it (apart from its being unique) is that it doesn't leak, would you believe? Must have got the glaze thick enough. It's basically a simple coil pot but I squished and fancified it. And now - with the weather back to grey cloud - it makes a useful emergency blip.
