Grandiflora

A day of almost unremitting light rain. I rescued a few modern grandiflora type sweet peas from the rain. Its ironic that the term grandiflora was coined by Henry Eckford to distinguish his new hybrids - with their larger flowers - from earlier varieties of sweet pea. Now of course its the grandifloras that have the smaller flowers, outdone by those showy Spencer types.
