Magic Roundabout

I have never visited a McDonalds voluntarily although my brother-in law David (long deceased investigative journalist, paratrooper and first of a string brothers-in-law via the same sister-in-law, quite a long story) once took me to what I believe was the very first such establishment based in Woolwich in the autumn of 1974. It served the same stuff then as it no doubt still sells to an unsuspecting public and I learned over the years that the brand would pursue anyone using the very word McDonald in a business context. God help you if you are a McDonald and want to run a business in Scotland!
As the McLibel case illustrated, the big corporations have lots of time and money to waste defending the brand.
It now seems that Google may well be adopting the same tactics against perceived unfair competition. Seems some lad in South Africa is being advised by the global giant to ditch the name Doogle, or else!
