Climb every mountain ... well not quite every one!

It's late, it's been a very long day of very high temperatures.

I think we were on every mode of transport possible today as made our journey to Stoos for nostalgic reasons. Eileen and I had been at guide camp there in 1964 .. it's almost unrecognisable now.

We first took a boat and then a bus, this was followed by a trip up to Stoos in a very old cable car. From their our journey continued up to Fronalpstock in two stages of the dangling legs type of chair lift .... stunning views but everything was so far away especially the gentleman having a seat!

Something to eat and drink at the top .. abut of awalk and then we repeated the two leg chair lift back down to Stoos. A walkround the village which has grown and changed considerably in 54 years. We stopped for a drink of iced tea and I met the lovely gentleman.

Then it was our final walk to the funicular station where we boarded the steepest funicular railroad (110% gradient) in the world in carriages that have automatic levelling .... a masterpiece of engineering.

Then it was a two bus journey to get back to Weggis in time for a quick snooze before tea. Tormorrow is going to be a relaxing day!
