Santa and the Sherriff

It has rained and rained heavily all day.....our gully now has a stream sloshing through and down.  Winter has been rather lacking in rain, so this wetness is needed.  Will help with the spring growth in our garden, and more importantly great for the farmers pastures with lambing starting in our area soon.
Now to Santa and the sheriff , both wearing highviz jackets...... rather a surprise as I looked out our window at 8am this morning.
We have quite a group of youngsters that catch the school bus outside our house every morning.  Not sure what was going on at school, but obviously some sort of dress up fun.  This group of children are driven out by their parents from our local town of Timaru so they can be  educated in a rural environment rather than go to the urban schools in town.
As you will see there are dark bits on either side of the photo.....that is the door and frame as I carefully opened the door and took a sneaky picture.  Pleased I did, as too wet to go outside and find something for Flower Friday.
Off out tonight, the opening session for a Portraiture/Nik weekend workshop.
