RIP Arethra and signs of a burning Summer

I couldn't let today go past without a nod to Arethra Franklin.  What a fabulous voice she had.  I don't think my first exposure to her was in the Blues Brothers but it is perhaps the one I remember the most.

The extra is of a fire that has been burning uncontrolled this afternoon at Salt Ash.  There is a long cloud of smoke being blown Eastwards out to sea and I could see it glowing as I walked the dogs this evening at home.  The bush around there apparently is tinder dry and what with no rain and all of NSW declared in drought it is a sign that unless we get some good rain we are going to have  a burning Summer.
