Don't worry - it was only a demonstration...!

We took the Metro this afternoon to Tynemouth for a walk to Whitley Bay, along the seafront.

Our route took us round Cullercoats Bay and by chance we discovered that it was the Harbour Day there, which is held every year to raise funds for the Lifeboat (we went 3 years ago, when it was held in June - see here.)

We were in luck, as they were doing demonstrations of Air-Sea rescues with the Coastguard helicopter and the Lifeboat. We were amazed at how much spray the rotor blades were raising.

I was so glad I'd taken my long lens with me - I almost didn't bother to take it, and I'd have been so cross with myself if I hadn't! Blip sorted.
