Is Féidir Linn - Yes, we can.

Travelled home from Ireland today, and on the way up to Dublin Port we called in at Ireland's famous motorway service station on the M7 at J23: Barack Obama Plaza. I kid you not!

In 2007, US President Barack Obama discovered that his great-great-great grandfather was from a little village called Moneygall in Co Offaly, Ireland. He visited a few years later and the idea for Barack Obama Plaza was born. There’s an exhibition centre on the second floor showing pictures of the visit to Ireland. It also provides information on the history of Irish-US relations.

In addition, there’s lots of fun memorabilia, cardboard cut-outs, and information around the service area. I didn’t visit the exhibition this year – I’ve been before and,  although it was quite interesting, I didn't feel the need to re-visit it.
