More Flowers (at last)

I obviously chose some summer bedding varieties that didn't appreciate the weather we've had during June and July this year.  It is only now, with a return to more typical summer weather that the flowers have returned.  More importantly the patch of yellow that I normally describe as a lawn is finally beginning to turn green again.

I'm certainly not complaining about the weather, whichever variety we get, but in some respects it would be nice if it wasn't the all or nothing that often seems to prevail during the summer months.  Anyway, we had a lovely family gathering for a couple of birthdays that colour around this time of year.  In the end I quickly grabbed some images from the garden and spent the rest of the time being hospitable.
