Wright Memorial Park........

   Today we traveled bait around the outer banks.  One of the places we stopped at was the Wright Brothers Memorial Park in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.  There is quite a story to how the Wright Brothers decided to fly, the had courage, determination, engineering ingenuity and first, and fore most Faith in each other, to follow this huge undertaking to conclusion, being their first flight was 12 seconds, their 4th successful flight was 859 feet and lasted 59 seconds.  
    At the park, the, sandhill they flew off of, has had a memorial  tower erected to them.  It is 90 feet tall....  the amount that the sand hill has been blown away and weathered by storms.  There is an inscription carved into the bottom depicting words from the brothers that demonstrate the faith, the courage, the tenacity, the engineering, the creation of the ability to fly.
   The extra is a monument stone that was placed at the spot where the longest flight made was recorded.  It was the 4th  flight using an aluminum engine they had designed and created, a specialized steering system to control the flight, developed the aerodynamic shape of the wings, still being used today, a pitch and yaw system to roll, elevate, land, and more.
     It was an amazing feat that occurred in 1901, with subsequent development.
