Today's the day …………………….. for rockery plants

One of the things I like most about having a rockery in the garden is that there's always something in flower right through the year.

Now it's the turn of the cyclamen to unfurl their petals and give us a show.  Goodness knows how they manage to grow at all, right in the crevices in the rock with hardly any soil to speak of - but they do.  And I'm pleased to see the little alpine poppy (see extra) is having another go.  It flowered earlier in the year but it's always a treat to see those translucent greenish-yellow petals for a second time.

That little miniature world is my favourite part of the garden ………………..
