Weston Park sketch outing

We finally got around to organising a sketch meeting for the former JWJ printmakers and friends (well one friend today).  We met at Ginger -  a new cafe opened by some of my former Geographical Association colleagues and then made our way down to the park.

I’ve been fascinated by this bandstand ever since I first came across it, so I made it the subject of my sketching today.  And with two for one in mind, I was able to photograph the column for the ArtUK sculpture project.

I’ll probably add a bit more information about the column in the morning.  It celebrates the life and work of a man who is perhaps more famous of his design work for the Victoria and Albert Museum.
