Hornet

Another grey, hot and humid day - making me feel literally under the weather...The most exciting thing to happen was finding a hornet in the moth trap this morning. It was extremely docile and was quite happy to have its photograph taken. I suspect it had been feasting on some of the moths and was quite replete. If you look closely you can see that it has moth scales scattered all over it.
