Off The Rails

If you thought I was in California you'd be wrong. And I wasn't in East Finchley (the destination of the tube train) either. The bike ride took us over the level crossing at the heritage station and on to the airfield cafe.

The big incident of the excursion was the attempt at the caff to charge John £14.50 for 3 teas and an egg on toast. After two protests they finally worked out that it should be £7.50. As you can imagine that kept us going with affronted chat for several miles on the way back.

Then at the second tea stop I took abuse for buying us standard size teas rather than the more generous large versions.

As you can tell, the standard of intellectual discussion on our rides is pretty high. Sartre would be impressed.
