The Lozarithm Lens

...After (2) (Wednesday 22nd August 2018)

Wednesday is Decorating Day at the moment and the morning was spent by Refna and me visiting DIY stores in Calne and Chippenham selecting paints and wood stains, and the afternoon prepping and painting. While I was scraping off hundreds of Boston ivy suckers from fence panels, R. was priming, undercoating and painting a pair of door frames.
The blue outbuilding wall and red coal shed door are now divided by this grey door frame (first coat). Next week will hopefully see the fence panels get painted with wood stain.

The day began at 0730 when the shed crew arrived to rectify some problems with the shed they installed last month.

Tomorrow a tree care firm are coming to cut back some of the woodland garden and driveway trees, which will let more light into mine and next door's garden, and hopefully let next year's plums be more reachable. They are due to arrive at a more humane 0900 hr.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Lazy Lester - I'm A Lover Not A Fighter (recorded 1958, Nashville TN)
R.I.P. Leslie Carswell Johnson (Lazy Lester)(b. 20 June 1933, Torras LA, d. 22 August 2018, Paradise CA)
It was the Kinks cover of this that Dave Davies sang on their self-titled debut album that led me to discover Lazy Lester's original, though it was a mainstay of a lot of the R&B bands of the day. His heyday was at the Excello label where he played guitar, bass, percussion and harmonica on many other artists' records as well as his own.
