River Earn, Perth and Kinross

Fetched up this evening at the Townhouse in Perth. It is a marvellous B&B which is reflected in all its reviews being excellent apart from one or two which were rated it very good.

We had a leisurely start from Edinburgh leaving about midday for Muthill near Crieff where we parked and caught the bus to Crieff where we had lunch in the excellent Crieff Food Company’s cafe.

That prepared us for the walk back to Muthill along the banks of the River Earn, some 6 3/4 miles although the guide reckoned it was only 6 miles. A fine walk along a lovely stretch of water with hills in the distance making for wide sweeping vistas on what turned out to be a sunny afternoon, perfect for walking.

The boutique B&B waited, the proprietor carried out bags up two flights of stairs to the top room overlooking South Inch Park. Extremely well appointed and spacious; scones, jam and cream, bottles of water, shortbread, various teas, coffee, assorted toiletries to mention just a few.
