Offshore energy starts to take on a new meaning with these wind turbines just off the coast of Aberdeen. Seen here from near the entrance to Aberdeen harbour.

No doubt with the passage of time we will appreciate these quaint power generators in the much the same way we appreciate other forms of wind generated power. A few examples of which we still see from previous centuries, mainly built before the invention of the steam engine. Wind mills, wind powered pumps etc.

In homage to pictures from the past I have given this a slight oil painting effect.

I was lucky I managed to take this picture in a gap between the very heavy showers we have had to day.
