But, then again . . . . .

Alas, poor Yorick!

As a wee lad, Jnr was given a skull by a school pal so, the next time we went to the vet to have something unmentionable done to a dog, he took said skull with him. At the end of the consultation, and determined to get our money's worth, Jnr asked the nice man what sort of animal was its previous owner. It turned out to be a rabbit.

The discussion then turned to Jnr's strange interests and we were told to wait for a minute as the vet had something for the lad. A few minutes later we exited left through the waiting room, accompanied by a few titters and wise cracks, with Jnr proudly bearing aloft a Holstein skull. Thirty years later it still has pride of place on top of his wardrobe.

Thus began an interesting hobby with this portion of sheep being the third and latest entry into his extensive collection. A few days ago he announced that he had applied to do a PhD in Sweden, just north of the Arctic Circle, with his specialist subject to be Caribou ecology; I do hope he's successful and, if he is, I wouldn't be surprised if another skull turns up.
