Ordination Rock--Shadows

The shadows are wonderful--though not planned at all (it was 10 past one in the afternoon).  Ordination Rock is a glacial boulder where Samuel Hidden was ordained in 1792, as the first permanent minister in the town of Tamworth. It's a powerful symbol of the area for us, since we pass it every day driving to and from the Tamworth Village. The event of the day was the reception for an exhibition of excellent photographs by John Watkins,at the Tin Mountain Conservation Center in Albany, not far away.  It turned out that John attended the same private high school (Browne & Nichols in Cambridge, Mass.) two grades behind me. It was great fun talking at length with him and another contemporary, Ross Hall. Both John and Ross live full time nearby.  (I'm not providing links for either Tin Mountain or John--the former's site has little relevance, and John does not have a website. )
