Scotsman Grand Cafe

After months lying empty the old Scotsman newspaper HQ general office has reopened as the Grand Cafe. Y and I had lunch there. The surroundings are magnificent and you have to wonder as you walk down the marble staircase that this was a newspaper office, not the hotel it is now. And there was a musical accompaniment.

The town was mobbed. Tourists going home on the London train mixed up with Glasgow Festival goers and football fans coming east. That was the reason for the lunch. #2 son and G were off to the Hibs - Dons match at Easter Rd (1-1 draw).

After lunch (mid pm) we went for a drink. Indigo was full but the second choice was better, Harvey Nicks, where we ended on the balcony in the sunshine drinking champagne. Then back down to the Waverley Mall bar for a drink with the 'boys' before the visitors headed back west and I fought my way up N Bridge to catch an overcrowded #37 home. The town is hooching. Last Festival weekend.

No food tequired and the tv was rubbish and I was tired after another disturbed and painful night so an early night.
